Fife Equalities Local Election Hustings 2012 Report

As the local council elections approached, FRAE Fife in conjunction with Fife Independent Disability Network and Fife Elderley Forum hosted a hustings at Adam Smith Centre on Thursday 12th April 2012.


Four of the main political parties were invited to attend. These were: Cllr. Tim Brett – Liberal Democrats, Cllr. Neil Crooks – Labour, Cllr. George Kay - SNP, Candidate David Ross – Conservative.


Members of the audience asked a number of questions which ranged from local issues to foreign affairs, equality issues and civil liberties. The debate was lively, informative and fruitful, with enthusiastic participation from the diverse audience.


Moderated by FRAE Fife’s Chairman Adnan Miyasar, over 100 people attended the event, including David Torrance (MSP), Cllrs. Alice Soper, Judy Hamilton, Tom Adams and Kay Carrington.
