Community Cohesion Development Officer

Salary £21.760 pro rata
No. of hours p/w: 28.8 Hrs

Responsible to:  FRAE Fife Managing Director

 

KEY tasks:
Lead on the delivery and coordination of Community Cohesion interventions.

Develop effective and professional working relationships with key partners including representatives of statutory organisations, the third sector and faith organisations.
Co-ordinate the work of the Community 
Deliver Training Sessions, workshops, and Focus Groups.
Monitor & evaluate participant’s progress and keep all records.
Assist in the collection, compilation, analysis and dissemination of all data statistics and reports generated by project activity
Contribute to the writing of reports and publicity materials for the project
Undertake any other relevant tasks and duties as directed by the FRAE Fife management team

Community Cohesion Development Officer


Experience

•    at least four years’ experience of  community development  with BME organisations, and organisational  development with small community organisations
•    proven experience in developing and delivering Ethnic Minority Projects, with particular emphasis on Community safety & Community Cohesion initiatives
•    at least two years’ experience of volunteer management and supervision
•    proven experience of organising and delivering training, seminars and workshops to individual community groups 
•    proven experience of work in partnership with voluntary and statutory organisations.

•    excellent analytical skills
•    excellent communication skills, both oral and written
•    ability to work constructively with people from a wide range of backgrounds and organisations
•    ability to establish effective working relationships, based on mutual respect and clear communication
•    good report writing skills
•    ability to think and plan strategically 
•    ability to use proficiently standard office software, including word – processing,  data bases and spreadsheets


Knowledge

•    understanding of the experience of black and ethnic minorities in the UK
•    in-depth knowledge of Capacity Building /Empowerment  issues and community based initiatives to change behaviour
•    knowledge of community consultation methodologies, data analysis, and reporting.

•    ability to work on own initiative, identifying new opportunities and methods of working
•    constructive approach to partnership working
•    commitment to the values of the FRAE Fife
•    a good standard of written and spoken English

SALARY

Salary £21.760 pro rata for 28.8 Hrs per week 

HOURS OF WORK

28.8 Hrs.

 

 

ANNUAL LEAVE

The annual leave allowance for a full year is 25 days pro rata plus any public holidays that fall upon days that you would normally work or 35 hours per week.

PROBATION PERIOD

All appointments are subject to three - month probationary period.

NOTICE PERIOD

During the probation period the notice period to be given by either side is one week. Once the post holder  has been confirmed in post the notice period required to be given by either side is one month.

CONTRACT OF EMPLOYMENT

This post is initially funded until July 2017 with possible extension subject to funding. 

The successful candidate will have enhanced criminal record check prior to the commencement of  the employment with FRAE Fife.
